Welcome to the website of collected!, the collection platform of the Stiftungen Holstein. Here you can find information in Easy Language.

Easy Language means: we write in short sentences. We explain difficult words. This way, more people can understand the texts.

On this page you can read what collected! is. And what you can do here.

collected! is a collection of artworks. The works belong to the foundations. On this website you can view the works. You can also read who made the works. And you can see where the works are currently on display.

The collection grows every year. The foundations buy new works from artists in the region. This keeps the collection alive. Some works are very old. Other works are brand new.

Every work has its own page. There you can find the title. There you can also find the year and the material. Often there is a photo and a short text.

The collection has grown over many years. At the beginning there were only a few pictures. Today there are several hundred works. They hang in town halls, in schools and in offices. Some works are also stored in the depot. A depot is a large storage room for art.

You do not have to pay anything to view the works here. The website is free for everyone.

You can see pictures of the artworks. Each work has a short text. You can also see which exhibitions are currently on show. And which exhibitions have already ended.

You can sort the works by artists. You can also search by the first letter. This way you can quickly find what interests you.

There are also stories about the work of the foundations. In them we talk about exhibitions. We talk about new acquisitions. And we introduce the people behind the works.

Some stories have a film. You can watch the film directly on the page. You do not need your own programme for this.

The foundations buy artworks. They show the works in exhibitions. And they support artists with a fellowship.

A fellowship is money for the work. The artist receives the money for one year. During this year the person can work in peace. They do not have to do other work.

The fellowship has existed for 30 years. Every year one person receives the fellowship. The person is allowed to work in a studio for one year. A studio is a room for working on art.

The studio is in an old water mill. The water mill is in Trittau. There is also a gallery there. Works are shown in the gallery.
