On the acquisition

“Finding the F” comes from the exhibition “Nur nicht mit beiden Beinen auf der Erde stehen”, for which Monika Michalko developed a new spatial ensemble at the Galerie im Marstall Ahrensburg in 2015.

Visitors were guided through rooms made of fabric hangings, which the artist filled with etchings, tableaux vivants and paintings. The colours and ornaments of the individual works continued onto the floor and onto built elements in the room.

The acquisition fills a gap in the collection’s holdings of painting from the last ten years.
