Children playing, rabbits having a picnic or even an alien invasion? What will life on the castle meadow look like?
Please take a photo of your artwork and send it to us by email. We are looking forward to your art!
Note: we publish the photos of the three winning pictures together with the first names of the young artists.
- Who can take part?
All children, whatever their age and wherever they live. Groups from nurseries and schools are welcome too – please send one picture per child so that we can look at each work on its own.
There is no upper age limit and no lower one. Last year the youngest entry came from a three-year-old who coloured the entire sky green, the oldest from a twelve-year-old who used the colouring page as a template for a drawing of her own. Both are expressly allowed.
The technique is free as well. Coloured pencils, wax crayons, watercolour, felt tip, collage from newspaper – anything goes, as long as the picture ends up on paper and can be photographed.
- What is the deadline?
The end of the month. The date of your email counts, not the postmark – so you can keep drawing until the last evening.
We look at all the entries together, which takes a few days. Then three people from the foundation pick the three pictures, and it gets harder every year, because there are never only three good ones.
We announce the winning pictures two weeks later. Everyone who took part hears from us before that – including those who did not make it this time.
- How do I send my picture?
Photograph it from above in daylight and send the file to the address in the legal notice. A phone photo is perfectly fine, it does not need to be anything special.
It works best if you put the sheet on the floor or on a table by the window and stand so that your own shadow does not fall on it. No flash – it washes out the colours and reflects off the paper.
Write your first name and your age in the email. We only need an address if your picture wins, and then we will ask again.
